MOUSE BITES CATS by KONTA BAND
On Mouse Bites Cats KONTA BAND have combined influences ranging from Mr. Big to King Crimson to Steve Vai and cooked up a mind-blowing musical event! The title track is a perfect example of what this band is all about. An instrumental, the song starts out with a great rock groove - then heads into some amazing unison guitar/keyboard playing. From here several different themes are explored, and while the band whips through tempo and rhythmic changes in the blink of an eye the song sounds like a song - not just a bunch of unrelated compositional ideas tossed into a blender. Serious chops from all players are on display here. The next couple of songs are also done well as KONTA BAND effortlessly moves between styles ranging from standard rock to near-heavy metal. The last song, Glimmer, is a gorgeous instrumental ballad showing a band capable of great things in any stylistic format. Mouse Bites Cats is a hair-raising thrill ride of a CD - a truly stunning effort from KONTA BAND!

アルバム「Mouse Bites Cats」でproject-m.から世界デビューが決まった！！！
インストバンドに必ず活路はあるはず！との信念が遂に実ったのだ。
自分の事のようにうれしい。
インストバンドにはフュージョンブーム以降逆風が吹いていたのだが
海外に活路を見出せることで、状況は一変するであろう。
なぜならば67億人を相手にすることになるからだ。

KONTA BANDの魅力についてみなさんに熱く語りたいと思います！
最大の魅力は高度なギターテクニックの持ち主に似合わず テクニックに傾倒せず、まず楽曲ありきと考えている事だ！
カラフルに彩られたキャッチーなメロディや、KONTA流のニュアンスを随所に含んだ楽曲からは、自分の世界を思う存分謳歌しているように感じる。
演奏スタイルは、楽曲優先を心がけてエモーショナルさに重きが置かれて控えめではありながらも高度なテクニックをところどころに織り混ぜ、メロウな音作りと相まって楽曲の一部として、さりげなく自然に聴かせるあたりKONTAのミュージシャンとしてのスタンスを見せている。
2004年 リーダーの今田昇（KONTA）がソロとして Rock Guitar Instrumental Musicをやるためにサポートメンバーを集めてライブ活動を始める。
2005年 KONTAのソロとしてアルバム「The pieces of destructed time」を発表。KONTA自身がそれまでやってきたRockでありながら「Instrumental songを中心にしてイメージを伝える」というコンセプトで、それまでとそれからを繋ぐアルバムとした。
2007年 KONTAのソロワークの頃から一緒にやってきた小枝指 徹（ドラム）、更に工藤 純（Gt）とNABEO（Ba）が
新加入し、バンドとしてよりロック色を強くして活動開始。バンド名を「KONTA BAND」としライブ活動を展開。
8月にはミニアルバム「Mouse Bites Cats」レコーディング。
2008年 キーボードにPhilip Linden加入。同年2月にミニアルバム「Mouse Bites Cats」発表
